Hmmm, it's surely possible to subscribe to RSS Feeds. See all the news bots out there, for example. Only thing in Friendica is (by purpose), that you can subscribe to your own feeds. An example: I'm interested in #retrocomputing, so I follow that hashtag feed, but what is generated from that hashtag can't be posted into my account, because that will cause a feedback loop or so.
