A response to @kev sharing my workflow, using #jekyll, #vim, #rofi and other tools to achieve the same thing. Plus some extra stuff people using any #ssg would find useful! Day 41 of #100DaysToOffload

Now I'm back on #Jekyll (and have been for a few months) here's how my workflow for producing content has changed over #WordPress.

New blog post: Client-side comments with #Mastodon on a static #Jekyll website at https://jan.wildeboer.net/2023/02/Jekyll-Mastodon-Comments/

Replies to this toot will show up as comments on my blog! It's magic! And this post explains how that works.

Today I added a couple of simple improvements to my comment system.

- Button now says "Reply via Fediverse" (rather than just Mastodon).
- Instead of just opening the URL, its now also displayed so it can be copy/pasted with ease to whatever client you use.
- The load comments button won't display at all if JS is disabled.

Mastodon, Jekyll y Github.

Working with tags in #jekyll to help with the #100DaysToOffload Finding a way to make a page dedicated to a tag. I guess you could also make it a category, but depends on how you setup your #blog.

my blog uses #MinimalMistakes and he has a neat sort option for the tags page. https://github.com/mmistakes/minimal-mistakes/blob/master/_layouts/tags.html

I just wrote a blog post about #tags and #jekyll as well: https://claytonerrington.com/blog/working-wtih-jekyll-tags/

I figured out how to sort my tags on #jekyll so I wanted to share it with yall in case you are doing a #blog or like me, are participating in #100DaysToOffload (Day 3!)and interested in using this #SSG.

A tutorial on how to add #mastodon based comments to your static website using #Jekyll (probably will work on #hugo too)

This is day 69 (nice) of #100DaysToOffload

Make sure to leave a comment if you want to test it yourself, although it has worked for a while now 😛

So, how do I embed images to a #markdown file, specifically, to a post for my #jekyll #blog?

Well, I came up with a faster solution than what you probably do right now! with some #bash #rofi and even a #gui option for non-terminal users... kinda.

This is day 95 of #100DaysToOffload

There seems to be some kind of unofficial #fosstodon #challenge to build your own blog using #Jekyll and a flavor of #git repository.
Challenge accepted!

Been comparing various static site #hosting providers with #Jekyll #Hugo and #Eleventy.

The results were interesting.

Join us ... @spirit56 , in the discussion about #jekyll future ?

Been thinking about #Jekyll.

It can certainly continue to be used just as it is. For a long time. I wouldn't recommend that anyone stop using it (as long as it continues to fit their business or personal requirements).

Maybe it's just feature complete?

We're just so used to the newest shiny thing or trend on software that the old standbys don't look attractive.

RIP #jekyll

Ea ba... #Gitlab-eko maisu-maistrei galdera... saiatzen ari naiz hainbat tutorialekin egiten. #Jekyll paketea "sardeskatzen" dut (fork) eta pausu guztiak jarraitzen ditut.... baina azkenean beti errore hau ematen dit #pipeline-etan begiratzen badut:
listen-3.2.1 requires ruby version >= 2.2.7, ~> 2.2, which is incompatible with
the current version, ruby 3.0.2p107

Dena beste lekuren batera migratzerik ba al dago? Githuben geldituko naiz? Norbaitek ba al du gomendiorik?
Zergatik dira hain zailak #GAFAM ez diren aukera burujabe-etikoak eta pribatasuna mantentzean dituzten aukerak?
