#BanksiaIntegrifolia, aka the coast banksia, is a tree that grows along the east coast of Australia. One of the most widely distributed Banksia species.
This one however is stunted and ground dwelling for some unknown reason (to me). Maybe because of competition (plenty of gumtrees here), self-propagated or damage, not sure.
But the woody branches look healthy enough and Iโd suggest itโs longevity seems assured.
Only one bloom, but thatโs good enough for me!

Malva subovata, the #seamallow, is a species of flowering plant in the family Malvaceae, native to the shores of the western and central Mediterranean.
These flower profusely. I recall them years ago when I visited along the coastline of their natural habitat.
This beautiful, but sparse specimen in #caulfieldsouth #Australia, gives just enough to illustrate its flowering beauty.

A gorgeous creeper of some sort in a #StKilda alleywayโฆ easy to miss given itโs secluded locale.
I revisited this one a couple of weekends ago as couldnโt stop at the time.
These are the best shots that highlight the various autumn colours, with the brown wispy branches behind the leaves, layered over this wooden fence.
It was raining at the time and that highlighted the vibrant leaves, so too the #bluestones on the alleyway floor.
This was a treat, for mine.

We were up in the clouds; 10 degrees Celsius cooler at 4 deg C, than midway down the mountain.
No wonder #moss grows prolifically at the peak!
This will be covered in snow later this month Iโd suggest and kids will be tobogganing down the hill laughing and having a ball of a time.

I know my late mother loved them and we had them in abundance at her final farewell some 20 years ago and I associate them with mum and her love of life and home gardening.

It is native to the United States and Mexico. Itโs grown as an ornamental plant flowering in summer (although I read with interest, usually spring in southern Australia, such as in #Victoria), with cup-shaped flowers in brilliant shades of red, orange and yellow (occasionally pink and white).

These usually have an abundant canopy.
Young foliage starts off a bright yellow colour and ripens to lime green. The two tone looks terrific in the morning sun!
