Rediscovered my love for the #A600. I had tucked it away for quite a while after I bought it from a good friend some 5 or 6 years ago. Played Jim Power, Test Drive and watched some demos and was so excited again that I even bought an Indivision scandoubler so I can use my small VGA monitor (not in that picture 😄). Next I'll get some vintage PC speakers that will fit nicely with the system and I'm all set. For now.

looked through my old computer games yesterday and came across MadTV, a TV station management sim from 1991 I used to play a lot.

It was quite cute, it had nice cartoon graphics and a weird and what I thought was inoffensive kind of humor.

Well, then I was thinking today: wait, isn't it a core gameplay mechanic to send terrorists to your rivals?

it's interesting that self modifying code feature was the only feature present on original 68000 and then removed starting from 68020.

i guess it wasn't even a feature, a feature, hardware protection was later added to prevent possibility of writing self-modifying code.

and today it's back as feature, because what we needed back then for survival, we do today for fun.

After ~20 years, it's alive!

Revived the #Amiga 500, also serial transfer to Linux work.
Now on to debug why the external floppy does not work, and the power brick emits high frequency noise.

#Amidon (#Amiga #Mastodon client WIP): If I replace the HTMLview class with a simple TextView one, I can at least get the content in there. And I do have some basic text formatting (Bold, Italic, Underline and color). I still need to strip out the HTML of course, but this is just a test anyway:
