This is interesting advertisement technology, the ability to target the ads on live feed to specific audiences. On TV channels this can mean by country or region, on Internet it can be narrowed down even more, age, sex, economic status and so on, depending on what prior information broadcasters/advertisers have managed to get from their customers.

With that in mind we are faced with a weird situation where two/many people can watch the same live footage yet not see the same thing.
At first this technique will mostly be used for advertisement billboards or something similar to promote ads. I can foresee issues in the future when the use of...say...green-screens on live feeds get used in this manner.
