I want to build a #, with Syncthing and some other things, should I use a # or something else? Maybe it will be a # (# based system).

Suggestions for the hardware?

#

For my server I use 3Devuan as I want a # OS. On my desktop runs # with # then. That's okay, as my # GPU is fully supported (non-free, sadly). Still I'm being elsewhere shamed for having an "out-dated" Firefox because of it is an ESR version. I don't know why Debian is not providing Firefox # , maybe not reliable enough for them? I'm already on unstable (not testing, that's to adventurous) and still hang around with ESR.

I remember that, I've used # and # for many years. I ended up actually using Firefox's own Linux bundle instead of the provided package.

I'm currently working on an Ububtu device and their FF package is a very recent version. *buntu not my first choice though, but a kind of compromise to get a GPU working.

Elive Linux

Another shout out for this user friendly, very lightweight yet also very pretty Linux distro

Elive is based on Debian, offering some adorable bling-bling through its Enlightenment desktop environment / Cairo dock amongst other things such as fancy sound effects.

Work continues towards 64 bit stable release: they need help in means of donations, reviews etc. for Elive publicity.

Please donate, help & spread word if able.

Blender, Ryzen, OpenCl

Hi Folks,

This really blown my mind...

I was setup Blender for my son when it came out that OpenCl is not supported with mesa, mesa-opencl and radeon...

Why can't Blender support free and open source driver for Linux?

Now I have to figure out how install amdgpu pro in order to get opencl working... weird!

Hello!

I need some help regarding # # running #/#

It seems # is not working at all with # stable, testing, # LTS .

Is there anyway you can help me out ?

Looking for some volunteers to test the diaspora-installer package in #.

All it takes is setting up a lxc container or vm locally, installing diaspora package and testing it in a browser on your host machine (create an account, post some status, share some photos etc).

Keep the package updated when new versions are released. Let me know if you are interested.

I was not very actively maintaining this package for some time, now planning to be more active. Already fixed some bugs and fixing some final bugs in 0.7.14.

Got some volunteers already and we got together on a jitsi meet/video call and created systemd service files for the package. The existing init script seems flaky now and systemd units are looking good.

Debian for Kids

Bad move using # testing for my Kid's laptop, I am struggling with frequents frozen mostly caused, I guess, by the wifi chipset. And at home are constantly forced to reboot in Window... I mean I would probably fix it on the fly but since the moment I am not at home the only solution is a forced reboot.

I have to dig more about the wifi/bluetooth chipset to see if I found a solution, yesterday I thought to have fixed all the warning and the issues tough.

But I am pretty sure that when you have a piece of hardware that doesn't play well with the Kernel you would have the same annoying issues even with the stable release of Debian.

I wonder if blacklisting totally the wifi chipset it may prevent those frozen, as a matter of fact I got a powerline to solve some wireless connectivity issue hence I can blacklist the chipset if it is possible...

I'll let you know...

MT:
