A greened earth is not necessarily a cooler earth ;)

The cities certainly would benefit from greening. But the tendency would appear to be a more homogeneous climate overall - no ice caps or deserts. China has seen positive effect from greening in the last few years, but I think the crops are not so nutritious - also a factor. Very difficult subject - the future ;0)
